Cabbage rolls Directions

Multicooker firm: PHILIPS

HD3136

• Disassemble the head of cabbage into individual leaves, rinse them. Pour 2 liters of water into the multicooker bowl.
• Press the "MENU" button , select the mode "BREW / STEAM" . Press the COOKING TIME button, then use the + and - buttons to set the cooking time to 5 minutes. Click the START button.
• Once the water boils, dip the cabbage leaves into it. The water must boil so the leaves will remain green. At the end of the program, remove the leaves and immerse them in cold water to prevent the leaves from becoming too soft. Drain the hot water from the multicooker bowl.
• Finely chop the onion, combine the onion, minced meat and raw rice, and season with salt. Wrap the resulting minced meat tightly in boiled cabbage leaves, tucking the edges. Lay the cabbage rolls in layers in a multicooker "seam" down. Mix tomato paste and sour cream, salt and pepper, add bay leaf, pour stuffed cabbage with this sauce. If it seems to you that the sauce is not enough, then add a little boiled water to it.
• Press the "MENU" button , select the "EXTEND" mode . Press the COOKING TIME button and then use the + and - buttons to set the cooking time to 1 hour. Click the START button.
• At the end of the program, several beeps will sound and the appliance will go into heating mode. Using the oven mitts, carefully remove the inner bowl from the multicooker. Arrange the prepared cabbage rolls on plates and serve.
Tips
• Instead of ordinary white cabbage, you can use Savoy cabbage - its leaves do not need to be pre-processed, and it is much easier to wrap minced meat in them. The elastic thin leaves of young cabbage can be used without boiling.
• If the veins are hard and thick on the cabbage, they should be cut off or beaten off with a cooking hammer.
• Instead of boiling cabbage leaves, cabbage heads can be microwaved for 25 minutes. Or wrap the head of cabbage in foil and bake it in the oven for 40 minutes.
• Minced meat can be made from rice and mushrooms, from meat with coarse grated carrots, meat and grated zucchini.
• You can stew cabbage rolls not in sour cream sauce, but in the same amount of tomato juice. Then serve them better with sour cream.
