Ingredients

  • Sauerkraut - 1000 gr
  • Onion - 2 pcs
  • Pork fat - 50 gr
  • Apple juice - 200 gr
  • Apples (sour) - 1 pcs
  • Juniper (berries) - 10 pcs
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Caraway tsp
  • Black pepper (ground)

Preparation:
1. Cut the bacon into small pieces. Rinse sauerkraut and squeeze. Wash the apples, cut in half, core and cut into thin slices without cutting off the skin. Finely chop the onion.
2. Put bacon in the bowl and turn on the Vegetables / Frying mode for 15 minutes.
3. When the bacon is lightly fried (3-4 minutes), put cabbage, apples and onions in a bowl and fry everything together, stirring occasionally, until the end of the program.
4. Add apple juice, sugar, juniper berries, pepper and turn on Vegetables / Stew for 30 minutes. Stew the cabbage, stirring occasionally.
Note:
This traditional German dish is served with sausages and fried smoked sausages.
