Soak well washed pearl barley in 1.5 glasses of cold water. Peel carrots, onions, celery, cut into strips and fry on the Frying or Baking program in a little vegetable oil for 5-10 minutes. Deactivate the Frying / Baking program. Put the sautéed vegetables on a plate.
Put the meat cut into portions into a multicooker bowl, add water and cook on the "Soup" program for 20 minutes. Remove the formed protein foam. Put cereals in broth and cook for 40 minutes, then add browned vegetables, diced potatoes, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Cook until potatoes are tender. Sprinkle dill or parsley over the soup before serving.
